Who We Are
ADDIXION ORCHESTRA is not an ensemble in the conventional sense — it is an addiction, deliberately spelled to declare it. A string orchestra born from the conviction that classical music, played correctly, should not only soothe. It should implicate.
We are young instrumentalists drawn from Bucharest's leading orchestras, assembled not to perform repertoire but to detonate it. No fixed hierarchy of soloist and accompaniment — only voices in proximity, sometimes in agreement, more often in productive conflict. What holds us together is not comfort. It's the high voltage and adrenaline.
Our Mission
ADDIXION exists to keep the string orchestra a living, evolving form — not a repository of the past, but an ensemble defined by the intensity and intention with which it plays.
We select programmes that create dialogue between works, often placing them in deliberate contrast, and we perform with a commitment to depth over familiarity. Our aim is not simply to present classical music, but to make its stakes legible again — to an audience that includes both longtime listeners and those encountering this repertoire for the first time.
We place particular importance on reaching younger audiences, believing that the future of this art form depends on how it is introduced, not merely preserved. Every programme is built with the same standard: nothing included without purpose, nothing performed without conviction.
